From the Vineyards

A Study in Still Life
Painting
From the warmth of the Tuscan sun Italy's
best grapes are grown. The Tuscany theme is among the most favorite
for home decorating.
Whether it's fresh grapes in a fruit still life
or fine wine and crystal glass, the vineyard themes have always been a favorite
subject for still life painting. You'll learn a painterly approach to
creating a Tuscan themed still life on artist canvas using Coulter Grisaille™
and color glazing.
Crystal goblets, pewter mugs, brass
candlesticks, raffia encased bottle, beeswax candles, brocade fabrics and a
checkered napkin
are
among the kinds of things you'll learn to paint in this delightful 12 month
painting seminar online.
Learn how to set up a still life and then
photograph it. You'll learn Linda's favorite beginner way to put your
design on canvas using comparison, ratios and balance techniques.
All designs will be painted in Coulter
Grisaille™ which makes it very easy to make changes and alterations. Then
rich transparent colors are applied in playful glazes using Linda's easy
techniques.
Students will be painting several still life
projects during this course. Some are easy vignettes to learn how to paint
a particular element, such as a pewter mug with fancy initial, or a cluster of
grapes, while other projects are more complex including 3 to 5 elements per
design. A variety of rich Tuscan colors will be explored as well as French
Chateau style accessories. The delightful collection of simple yet elegant
art works that you will paint in this year-long study course will make 2010 a
happy and memorable year. You'll learn easy techniques and many short cuts to
painting still life. This course is sure to delight your creative spirit
and inspire your imagination.
