Linda Coulter's Luminist Art Style ...is a celebration with paint and brush of the awesome beauty found in nature. Linda Coulter will teach you the secrets of the 19th Century Hudson River School of landscape painters. What is Luminism?
In these times of economic unrest and political turmoil, we turn to Linda's Lumninist Art Study Program to find creative stress relief and lift the American spirit with new hope and inspiration as we celebrate the awesome beauty of America's landscapes. Linda Coulter has developed EASY painting techniques that are based on the art concepts of the Hudson River School of American landscape artists. Using Linda's techniques you can achieve the same kind of inspirational drama in your painted landscapes.
Linda Coulter has merged the Hudson River School's principles of illumination with her own playful brushwork and richly saturated colors to create inspirational atmosphere and drama for the American landscape. Coulter's Luminist Art Style is a fast multi-layered painting process that teaches students how to mingle the gentle nuances of neutrals, and master richly saturated colors to create beautiful color harmony and radiant light. All this is achieved with a limited palette of 6 colors to create luminous landscapes and seascapes. Linda Coulter's Luminist Art Study Program
Level 1: Learn the basic concepts of Luminism. Small to average sized landscapes are painted in the Level 1 workshop as students paint along with Linda. Through Linda's step by step demonstrations and personal guidance, her students learn the basic principles of painting dramatic skies, soft lacy foliage, glistening water with mirror-like reflections, hazy distant hills or mountains and grassy meadows. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Level 2: Students will continue their study of painting luminist landscapes in Level 2. They will be working on a variety of canvas sizes and shapes to create various effects of sunlight and atmosphere as well as several kinds of foliage, water reflections, grazing animals, all four seasons and more. Several project studies in Level 2 are required before advancing to Level 3 in the Luminist Art Study Program. Level 2 Seminars are a prerequisite for advancing to Level 3 Seminars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Level 3: Students bring their own original photographs to class to learn how to create original works of art using the Luminist techniques they have learned in Levels One and Two. Atmospheric conditions and inspirational landscapes hallmark this level of Linda Coulter's Luminist Art Study Program.
